FANGIRLING!

The show itself was incredible.
They seemed to be really enjoying working as a team again.
Bob wasn't there as he's damaged his wrists, which is fair enough.
But the missing Mikey Way had returned!!!
With hair almost as long as his brothers and a real look of enjoyment on his face throughout.
Fuck, he even started jumping up and down and bouncing around.
Which I've NEVER seen Mikey do!
They did songs from all three albums and some cover songs - at least I think they were covers.
I didn't recognize them.
Maybe they were new, who knows?
Either way, fucking immense.
Just when people have me doubting myself for still loving them after so long, I see them do something like that and I remember just what it is that makes them my favourite band.
My fucking heroes.
I was nearly in tears during Welcome To The Black Parade and Famous Last Words.
And nearly jelly when Gerard informed us that we were all his precious rubies and he wanted to take us home and put is in the pockets of his tight jeans.

I don't normally fangirl over him but that deserved it, heehee.
He was looking stunning... absolutely fucking gorgeous.
Ohhh Zacky...

Shame I couldn't get any close-ups of him there.
Oh and the coolest thing about the night?
A ton of people had brought feather boas which he said he liked during the Koko gig.
I was just there giggling like a fool thinking "I was there when he started that off!!!"
Oh, and they played Basket Case over the speakers to get us all warmed up which gave me chills.
I know, stupid but it was the song they played to get us all warmed up at my first MCR gig almost a year ago.
It brought back so many memories.
All in all, fucking amazing.
They said they're not coming back for a year or so.
I'm sad but at the same time, kinda glad.
Means we'll get a new album!!!
More new songs!

That night is going to go down in metal history!!!
Every band were incredible.
Shadows Fall's singer has the COOLEST HAIR EVER!!!
His dreads literally reached the floor, fucking madness!!!
They're really good live, even though I only recognized the one song.

Arch Enemy are fucking IMMENSE!!!
Angela Gossow is really hot in the flesh!!!
Their guitarists amazed me!!!
I was pissed off when my phone's videos cut out during my favourite song of theirs - Dead Eyes See No Futureeeeee!
I didn't manage to get any good pictures of them, they were moving around too much.
Well, that and I was too busy watching Robb Flynn from Machine Head who was stood at the sound booth riiiiiiight in front of me watching them.

Dragonforce, OH MY GODDDD!!!
They are so much fun to watch live!!!
The guitarists would start swearing at each other, kicking each other, pulling faces at each other, trying to have sex with each other.
They were the most entertaining band in that respect.
Music-wise, they are fucking wicked!
Every live show of them I've seen on TV has been awful but when you're there, they are so fantastic.
At one point towards the end, the bassist, two guitarists and keyboard players are stood in a circle and were plucking strings and hitting keys on each other's instruments, still at the blistering Dragonforce speeds.
That was very impressive!

Then Trivium.
Oh God, how can I express how incredible and orgasmic and perfect and mindblowing and phenomenal they were without using interpretive dance?
They were just...
I mean...
I can't actually describe how good they were.
I was on the front row - pretty much, got shoved back one or two on occasion but I always fought back to the front - and they blew my fucking mind!
The guitar work, the bass solo, the drumming, the singing, COREY SINGING TWO TRACKS, ahhhhh, it was perfect.
My only complaint was how long Corey spent over the other side.
Paolo flitted about all over the stage, Corey very rarely came over to our side... but when he did, he did his massive grins and... oh Lordy, I think I fangirled right there in the pit.
The set was apparently an hour long but it didn't feel anywhere near that.
It felt like they'd only done about three tracks.
Oh and the atmosphere during 'Anthem' was just incredible.
That song's powerful enough on CD but when you're there, when a couple of thousand people are all pumping their fists and screaming "WE ARE THE FIRE!", it's just crazy.
And same with 'Gunshot', the whole arena screaming "HEY! HEY! HEY!" together... ahhhh fucking sweet!
All their syn's were forgiven!!!
I LOVE THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEMMMMMMMM!!!

Sadly, after Trivium, the beer, excitement and pain all caught up with me and I was nearly sick a couple of times.
Rather than staying at the front for Machine Head, I figured I'd be better a bit further back, away from the mad crush.
So I moved back to the center of the arena for them.
Even back there, none of the atmosphere was lost.
They were also fucking AMAZINGGGGGGGG!!!
I was holding my phone up so Tigger could hear all of their set actually and apparently even she was close to joining in the chants of "MACHINE FUCKING HEAD!" which erupted after every song.
'Davidian' live was probably the highlight of their set.
An entire arena screaming "LET FREEDOM RING WITH A SHOTGUN BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAST!" was just fucking crazy!!!
That said, 'Aesthetics Of Hate' was also amazing.
I was screaming along to that at the top of my lungs, headbanging til I nearly passed out, jumping around like a fucking tit - all illness forgotten!!!
Actually, now I think about it, my highlight was motherfuckin' 'HALO'!
My favourite, favourite song off 'The Blackening' album, I hadn't expected them to play it.
But ohhhh when they did... wow!
A fucking 9 minute metal epic, everyone singing, everyone swaying... *spazzes*, mindblowing.
I loved their set so much.
Again, it seemed shorter than it was!
Bloody amazing either way!!!

The night was just... so good.
I don't think I've done it justice with my words, it was just the greatest gig I've ever seen!
I'm sorry MCR but The Black Crusade owns The Black Parade.
I want to see all the bands again.
Granted, Shadows Fall and Arch Enemy more as support acts.
But Dragonforce, Trivium and Machine Head are definitely bands I'm going to be seeing full gigs of again in the future.
