RP:]] St Luke's Reform School For Young Gentlemen

I furrow my brow as I walk into the nursery with ease and take a seat on a toy box next to Dad's chair.

"Not good?" I question as I sit down cross-legged.

OK, maybe I was wrong.

"What's happened Dad?" I ask him the simple questions because I know that Chris is probably going to be screaming the little questions any minute now anyway.

"Well..."

I'm trying to think of how to word this. What's the best way to get across the fact their dad's a cheating asshole? It's not the kind of thing you ever mentally rehearse telling them.

"Uh... your Dad Z has... he's gone away for a while. We've... we've had a big argument and I don't know if we can get back from it right now." I say, trying to be as vague as I can.

"He... what?" I'm actually speechless, for the first time in my life.

"What happened, what was the fight about?"

This can't be happening, no. They were supposed to be the couple of the century, the gay couple that could the world that they can be good Dad's and stay together 'til the end... unless, it's just one of those little fights they have every once in a while, like the couples do in the movies.

"He's only gonna be gone for a few days, right?" It almost feels as if my heart is breaking, my chest feels really tight, "Right?"

Gone away? Argument? Not sorting it out? No! I'm one of the only kids I know who's parents are still together, I've always had that over everyone when they badmouth my dad's for who they are! Now I'm losing that, this can't happen!!!

"Why can't you fix it? Have you even tried to fix it?!" I snap, not able to think of anything but this being made right.

I'm trying to stay as calm as I can. I don't want to explode on them, I don't want them to deal with that too. I just want to know why he's not here, what's happened, why everything has to go wrong!

"I don't know, Courtney, I don't know what's going to happen right now."

I almost wish I hadn't told them. They both look as if they're about to crumble, it just reminds me of how young they really are again. My poor babies.

"I just need some time to figure out what I'm going to do. We need some time apart right now to decide what's best for us." I say.

I really don't want to tell them what Zacky did, they don't need to know that. It'll kill them, knowing he's not as good as they think he is.

I look over at Chris and he looks like he's about the cry. I feel the same, but I don't think I'll cry, I'm a little more angry than anything, and a little confused.

"But, we'll still get to see him, right?"

I know I say and do a lot of shit that can piss my Dad off sometimes, and I know that he does the same to me at times. But I don't not want to see him again. I really do love him.

"It wasn't... about us, or me, was it?" I question.

I nod quickly, "Of course you will! There's no way I'd ever keep you from him. And I know he'd want to see you two as well."

No matter how much he's hurt me, I'm not keeping him away from his children, that's just not fair on them at all. They need both of their parents around. Besides, they're acting like this is permanant. It won't be, me and Zacky will be together again before the year is out, I know we will.

We have to be...

"OK Dad, thanks. I love you and all, but you are not nearly as fun to piss of as Dad Z," I say with a small laugh, trying to lighten the mood somewhat, something I always picked up from both my parents.

I look up at Dad M and see him smiling a little.

"But, you're OK, yeah?"

I smile back at her, "Yeah, I'll be okay."

I look over to Chris who looks as if he's about to cry. My poor boy, I've never seen him look this upset before. I can't help but feel responsible for this.

"Chrissie?" I ask, "Are you going to be okay?"

I hold my arms out for him to come to me for a hug, unsure whether that's what he's after right now, or if he could even give me this right now.

I watch between Chris and Dad M as they both look like they are about the cry all over each other, and this makes me realise that I am going to have to take care of them now, aren't I?

I bite my lip as I think about this. I mean, Dad M's a sensitive person and so is Chris. Me and Dad Z were always the tough ones that would run this family, and now he's not here and he's caused this pain, I've gotta look after the two of them.

I shake my head as my head goes into overdrive about everything I might have to do. I think I'm really just being paranoid here.

I cuddle into my dads arms, no idea what I'm going to do here. I don't know if I can handle not having both of my dads around. I don't know if I can handle them not talking or not loving each other anymore. Or if I can handle not seeing them with each other again.

"I'll be okay, Dad." I say, trying to stop myself from crying, "Coz if I'm not I'll make everything harder and that's not fair on you. Or Courtney or anyone."

I hate how young I sound right now. I just sound lost and afraid. It's pathetic really.

I hold him tightly to me, "You'll be okay, Chris, everything'll sort itself out, I promise you."

I look up at Courtney, I think she realizes she's going to have to really help out around here. She's the only person that can keep Chris calm when he's having a bad time. I hate the fact I'm putting my little girl under so much stress now.

"We'll sort everything out, I promise." I repeat.

We will.

I smile softly at my Dad as he holds Chris close to him, stroking his hair as he cries quietly into his chest. I bite into my lip as I try not to cry myself. I want to be strong, but it's so hard.

"Yeah, we'll be fine," I say, whether I believe it or not.

I smile up at Courtney, "We've dealt with worse, right?"

We haven't, there's nothing worse than this, this is just the worst thing that could happen to us, short of losing Zacky to some kind of illness. But I need to keep their spirits up as much as mine.

"Everything'll be good soon, you'll see."

"Yeah, it'll all work out in the end," I say with a small smile.

Well, at least I hope it will. I am not about to be living in two separate states or houses. I can barely stand living in New York as it is.

"Just gotta work together then I guess."

[[Something else now? What else did we have planned for this washed out engagement party? haha.]]

[[Erm, just Brian telling Josef about his true parentage. Could do that? Have Coby there for moral support, haha.]]

ABOUT TWO WEEKS LATER

I still can't believe that he actually suggested we meet up, like, on a proper date. It's pretty insane really, I mean, he is twenty and I'm only just coming up for sixteen, but we seem to click so well together.

I stand at the corner of the road that he suggested we meet at, right outside the video store where my best friend works, and she is looking at me right now to see what Josef looks like.

I smile back at her before sighing a nervous sigh and looking around for him. I'm shivering a little too from the anticipation, that and I am wearing a top that is way low cut and a skirt that is... short, to say the least.

"Come on Joe. Hurry up, I'm freezing here," I whisper to myself as I look up and down the long street.

I'm trying to decide whether this is a good idea, whether screwing my bosses daughter is really worth trying. Or if I'll just get into all kinds of trouble I'm not really ready for.

Of course being the kind of guy I am, I've already decided that I'm going to do it. The girl's lonely, she's upset, she's still kind of vulnerable having lost one of her Daddy's. She needs a shoulder to cry on.

And I do have two very nice shoulders.

I turn round the corner where I can see a very barely clothed Courtney waiting for me. I allow myself to just admire her for a long moment, the girl has legs for days. I'm seriously impressed.
